My time at ICHS
I have attended ICHS for over 6 years. Throughout my time at the school, I have picked up a range of skills, listed above. This is due to my can do attitude and always throwing myself into problems or challenges that I face. Over this period I have attended many workshops, meetings and projects where I have excelled and provem my worth for becoming The Chairman of the Student Council
My Manifesto
Regular fortnightly/weekly meetings to be held in a Covid-19 safe atmosphere over teams.
Student Services and clubs to be moved digitally and to take place
More Competitions e.g Poster Comps, Inventor Ideas and other SuperCurricular events to take place
Workshops lead by me or other staff on skills including Leadership, Project Management and Flexible thinking for students
A greater Link between different clubs and organisations together, etc Eco Community and YTA and School Council collaborating together
Fused Learning - Links between different yeargroups to help eachother learn dependant on their subject. E.G - Sixth form biology student helping a Year 9 student on their topic about Genetic's, or Y10 maths student helping a year 7 on algebraic fractions. This will better allow a sense of community which may have been lost over the last few lockdowns, and help kickstart accelerated learning back in schools, aswell as a collaboration of ideas between different year groups.
Creative Curriculum - taking 1 day of school timetable to focus on a certain area of study, similar to what was done in the past. A comittee of students like myself and others can run this and plan events such as this for students
Interhouse Chess Competition - People keep asking me this, and it is possible as this can be done online very easily
School History Day/School Birthday - A Day where we can look back in history at how life was and key historical events, and learn about how this school progressed forward (one for the historians)
Enterprise day - Make a product of some sorts and sell it, to raise money for charity. Most amount of money raised gets a special prize/certificate
Student Advice Coloumn - Students of all ages can email in asking for advice, and a select trusted group can respond to it, similar to Peer Mentoring but school wide instead of year wide
